Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met Monday with a delegation of Italian business leaders and investors at the presidential palace in Mogadishu to discuss expanding trade and investment cooperation between Somalia and Italy.
The delegation was in Mogadishu to participate in a Somalia-Italy business and investment cooperation forum. The meeting was also attended by the Italian ambassador to Somalia.
The Italian delegation included executives from major companies, industrial firms and investors exploring emerging business opportunities in Somalia.
Mohamud welcomed the delegation and said Somalia is making progress in security, economic recovery and efforts to create a more favorable environment for international investment.
